The name comes from the way you “plop” scrunched, wet hair onto a hair towel, letting curls pile loosely on top of your head before wrapping them up to dry.
Curls are most defined when wet.The trick is to lock in that definition while your hair dries. That’s where plopping comes in.
Gently detangle. Apply curly hair product and scrunch (cup and squeeze) from tips up to the root.
Lay your towel down horizontally (with the hang tag on the top).
Lower your head and let curls settle at the center of the towel. Pull the front of the towel over the nape of your neck. Wrap around and under the forehead area.
Take the two long ends and tie at the back of your head. Let your hair dry for about 15 to 20 minutes
Bend over and flip your hair frontwards letting your hair hang down in front of you.
Place the towel over your hair centering the towel (the hang tag) on the center of your neck.
Wrap around to the forehead and twist the towel.
Bring the twist over the head and secure at the nape of your neck.
